Telek and David Bridie film 'Abebe' and upcoming live show!

Experience the music of ARIA award winning, Papua New Guinean legend George Telek throughout the month this August.


Abebe (Butterfly Song), a documentary directed by Rosie Jones, premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival on Sunday 13th August. The documentary follows the musical legacy and enduring friendship of 30 years between George Telek and David Bridie. The film is available to stream through the MIFF website this week, and will also be shown on Saturday 19th of August, 4pm at Kino Cinema, Collins Street.

Feeling inspired after the film to see Telek play live? You're in luck! After the film, venture to Melbourne's Memo Music Hall to hear Telek live in concert together with David Bridie on the night of Saturday 19th of August. Supporting Telek will be Solomon Islands musician Charles Maimarosia. Don't miss your chance to witness a fantastic night of live music!
