Iwantja are from the heart of the desert country of the Anangu itjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands of Central Australia. Some say Palya is as much a landmark as Big Name, No Blankets (Warumpi band) was with its breakthrough use of Indigenous language married to a wide range of musical styles.

The stylistic variation in Palya's twelve tracks, from ballads to psychedelic instrumentals to hip-hop stylings to desert reggae are the mark of a band that is supremely confident of its abilities and burning to prove what they can do-which is pretty much anything.

The Wantok Musik Foundation acknowledges the vast history, connection to country and cultural knowledge of First Nations communities across Oceania and strives to provide an environment that is spiritually, socially and emotionally safe.

We pay our respects to elders past and present, acknowledging the traditional owners of the lands on which we work and live.  The Wantok Musik head office is on the traditional lands of the Gadubanud People.
